Pickering Casino Resort at Durham Live

The floor holds 2,200+ slot machines and 90+ table games. Another 50+ electronic table games sit alongside them, for players who prefer a screen to a dealer. Great Canadian Entertainment runs the resort, which had its official grand opening on April 26, 2023. The loyalty card is Great Canadian Rewards.

Poker has its own room, on the third floor of the hotel. It has 18 tables: 16 traditional tables and 2 private High Stakes rooms. Normally the room is open 24/7. As of October 7, 2026, it is temporarily closed during the labour disruption, so poker players should check before making the trip.

As of October 7, 2026, a labour disruption affects Pickering Casino Resort. Slots and the hotel stay open 24/7, and Sun Express runs 24/7 as well. From Wednesday to Saturday, baccarat runs 24 hours, with blackjack and roulette from 12 PM to 4 AM. On Sunday to Tuesday, all table games run 12 PM to 4 AM.

Several parts are temporarily closed: the poker room, Starbucks, Casual, Copperhorn, the hotel pool, and the overflow lot with its shuttle. Vehicles are let through the picket line about one per minute. These arrangements can change, so check the resort's own site before going.

The hotel has 275 rooms, including 22 accessible rooms, and its phone is 905-686-4005. The Arena is the event venue, built for 2,500 people. Restaurants listed by the operator include Copperhorn Meet House, Casual, Sun Sui Wah, Starbucks and M Chá Bar. Under The District name sit Rock House Grill, Zio's and Sun Express.

Parking is free in a multi-level garage and an outdoor lot, and hotel guests get free covered parking. Metal detectors stand at public entrances to gaming floors and theatres. Entry is 19+ with a valid original government-issued photo ID. A secondary ID may be requested, under the rule We ID under 30. Smoking or vaping outside designated areas is prohibited, and so is cannabis on the property.

From central Port Perry, the resort is 30.3 km away in a straight line. Casino Ajax sits at 26.3 km, and the two casinos are 5.1 km apart. Pickering works on a much larger scale than Great Blue Heron on Scugog Island, which has 20 live table games and a 116-room hotel.

The operator's Casino Shuttle goes only to Toronto and Pickering. No shuttle serves Great Blue Heron, so a day that includes the island needs its own plan for getting there.
